MYNERARY APP

Social Media

Meets Travel

Designing a social-first mobile experience where travelers can discover, plan, and share their adventures with a community of friends.

The Challenge:

Travel planning is often a fragmented and isolated experience. Users juggle multiple apps for inspiration and booking, with no easy way to share discoveries or get trusted advice from their community. The goal was to merge social media and travel planning into one unified platform

My Design Process:

1. Understanding the User

To build a successful product, I conducted user interviews to understand the goals and frustrations of our target audience: young, tech-savvy travelers aged 20-28. Three key personas emerged from this research.

Jodie, 22

Pain Point:

"I need an easier way to keep track of travel deals than constantly checking the app."

Carlos, 27

Pain Point:

"I'm not always sure what activities to do when I get to my holiday destination."

Crystal, 25

Pain Point:

"How do I organize and share my flight, accommodation, and transport in one go?"

Key Research Findings

  • Deal Tracking Fatigue: Users want a smarter way to monitor travel deals without constant manual effort.

  • Activity Discovery is a Challenge: Travelers need help finding relevant and interesting activities once they've arrived at their destination.

  • Fragmented Organization: Users lack a central hub to organize and share all their travel details—flights, hotels, and transport.

  • Desire for Social Proof: Recommendations from friends and a trusted community are highly valued.
